I was with a close friend of mine, who is a working class Irishmen. So we were out at lunch, and the people behind us said something very raunchy to the waitress, and I just breathed in, and leaned in and said in a low voice “Dear God”. He says in a loud voice and says to the person “You shouldn’t bleep say that”. I think that perfectly illustrated the difference “Dear God” vs. “F—- you!”.
